- Psoas Muscle Dysfunction Test
Floota.com has collected a number of tests, sometimes called orthopedic screen tests, or OSTs, that you can do at home to help diagnose muscle and joint dysfunction. Most of these tests are lifted right from the texts that your doctor or therapist learned them from, the stuff you pay them the big bucks to do. Some of these tests you can do alone, and others require a friend.
If you fail a test, look for the applicable remedies on that test’s page and you’ll be on your way to resolving the dysfunction. When trying to diagnose your own problem, never forget that a single dysfunctional muscle is rarely the sole cause of chronic pain in your back or a joint. Look for other dysfunctional muscles in the vicinity and try to find the other pieces of the puzzle before cooking up a recovery plan (or following the one suggested).
